LiveTrack - name of the activity problem

hi,

when I start Garmin Connect (3.8.0.1), I open LiveTrack, set a session name, share on mail, facebook and twitter, and start activity.
But on the name of activity is always Activity xx/xx/2016 on the mail receive, facebook or twitter message.. If I stop and start LiveTrack with changing the name of session, I get the last name of session enter.

For the session name that interests me so I have to start, stop and restart LiveTrack ..

Do you have a solution to this problem?

I have the same problem - only worse. Sometimes the session name is the one I entered the previous day. This really, really sucks because I use the name to describe my route so my wife knows where to look for me if my phone dies and the time I expect to be home (say I sprain an ankle, or there's a bad thunderstorm) . I can't even use it any more -- because it actually gives worse information by using the previous day session name.

Using iOS Connect and Edge 1030 Plus. After the recent updates I cannot find how to change the name of my livetrack activity. It is stuck on a name from last month. The "settings" in safety and livetrack does not appear to have any place to change the name like the old app did.

Am I missing something?

Live Track Name change is stuck on the last name I used I can’t seem to change this name is there a new update fix on this or heard off

Same problem here, i can't change the name of the activity with the latest Garmin connect app.

I used an old iPhone where the app isn't up to date and i can change the name of my livetrack session on it.

I hope they will fix this bug

Same problem. I was able to type in a LiveTrack name under settings the first time I used it, but now the option is gone and all of my LiveTrack sessions default to that original name. There is an option to change the name but only after you've started a new LiveTrack session. After you start LiveTrack, there's a (very small) link called "Session Details." If you click on that, you can input a name for that session. You have to remember to do it every time, and I'm not sure how it works if you have autostart enabled.

Same problem, this is very frustrating. I can’t change the session name. This problem has been present for several months. Garmin did some change on the whole LiveTrack function in the iOS app and it has been broken since then. The new interesting function Show Course is not working either. What is good is that they finally added the opportunity to share sensor data like pulse and cadence but I would prefer a working function instead of new features. Why not enough beta testing Garmin? :’(

Fenix 6x Pro. Same problem. The first time I used the Livetrack was in San Diego and I titled it San Diego run. I live in Las Vegas and now every time I run it is titled "San Diego run" in Live track even though I am in Las Vegas. I know I can change it but that means I cannot use the "auto start" setting. If I want to run / Livetrack I need to bring my phone and start it manually. Everything else seems to work properly. Love my Fenix 6X Pro.

If you use account manager https://www.garmin.com/en-US/account/profile/ you'll be able to update your nickname used by your livetrack activities :) I hope that helps.

Every time I want to use livetrack, I have to remember to explicitly change the livetrack session name, as it always defaults to the last name used. If the name isn't changed, this causes weird problems when the livetrack is viewed. When I forgot to change it the other day, when the livetrack was viewed on my wife's phone, it had a concatenation of the present livetrack session plus the previous session that was named the same. If I explicitly name a livetrack, the following livetrack session defaults to the same name. If I tap on the livetrack name field in GCM and delete the contents of the name field, then tap Done, it defaults to naming the livetrack as "Live Activity <date>" where <date> is today's date. However, when I start another livetrack on a following day, the name still defaults to the name with the previous date.

It would be much better if the default name incorporated today's date, so that GCM doesn't default to re-using the same name over and over. I'm running the latest version of GCM on a Google Pixel 2 and the GPS is an Edge 1030.
