Garmin Connect "an error has occurred," connecting new device

Trying to put this up everywhere to see if somebody has had this problem and has a solution.

I'm attempting to connect a new VHSR to my phone (Motorola Turbo), which currently is sync'd with my Fenix 2. I go to devices, click the + to add device, select the vivo series and Vivosmart HR. It takes me to a "tell us more" screen with my height/weight and stuff. When I click next I get a brief popup saying "an error has occurred." It doesn't go beyond that or give me the option to begin pairing to the VSHR.

I have tried:
- Ensured app was up to date
- Cleared cache
- Cleared all data
- Uninstalled/reinstalled app

No joy so far. The problem seems solely with the app, but it works fine with the Fenix 2.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Thanks

    Found work around

    I found a work around.

I connected the VSHR using Garmin Express (see below for issue I had there). I went through the setup on my desktop. Then I went into GCM on my phone and checked devices and found that the VSHR was available as a device. When I selected to add it, it took me to the "Tell us more" screen but when I clicked "next" it went to the pairing screen without an error message. So it works now, though I'm sure this isn't what Garmin had in mind for "ease of use."

G Express issue - the VSHR showed in Express as a device but it wouldn't sync any data. It would error and tell me that I didn't have an activity tracker selected in Garmin Connect. When I'd go to the Connect homepage, there was no option to just add a tracker. I had to remove the device from Express and select the option to remove it from Garmin Connect as well (2nd of three options). Then I reconnected the VSHR and it went through as it should have the first time.

    Cheers!
