Connect mobile and GPSMAP 64s

Hello.
I got a Samsung Galaxy S7 which I usually connect my FR235 to via Garmin Connect Mobile. Works perfect.
I just bought a GPSMAP 64s which i would like to connect to the mobile app as well. And it does connect and sync, but it does not upload any data from the GPSMAP?

If I have been on a hike and would like to upload the trail and data from the GPSMAP to my mobile, how do i then do that? :eek: (no internet connection)

You won't be able to sync without an Internet connection to your phone. According to the GPSMAP manual, it can sync automatically, like your 235.

If the device has a USB storage mode connection you may be able to connect it via a USB OTG cable to an Android phone ( may need a powered hub). If the device stores GPX files you can use many apps to view them locally on the phone, for FIT files the EdgeScope app usually works well.

The documentation says:

'Activity uploads to Garmin Connect
Automatically sends your activity to Garmin Connect as soon as you finish recording the activity.'

Any idea how this works? Does the GPSMAP 64s support activities at all?

Garmin site has a footnote:

1The GPSMAP 64s/st will not sync activity data through Garmin Connect Mobile. The app is only used for the LiveTrack and Smart Notifications features. BaseCamp should be used for managing waypoint, track, or route data.
