Smart Notifications on Android N Beta

Last week, after Google I/O, I took the plunge and enrolled in the Android N Beta program on my Nexus 6P. Update went smoothly, and everything appeared to be working fine. My fenix 3 reconnected without issues, and seems to be syncing fine with Garmin Connect.

However, notifications on my watch no longer show any content. The App name producing the notification shows up, but the content, where you'd normally see the email title, text message body, or similar has been replaced by a single dot, centered in the message area. If I page down to my notifications list, then drill down into the notification itself, as if I were reading the full content of an email or text, I can see the content with the dot as the first line of the message, but everywhere else, the dot is all you can see.

I'm guessing the problem is due to the changes Google has made to notifications in Android N, but I'd love to see a quick fix for this issue. As it stands now, smart notifications are almost useless on N.
  • I saw the same issue on an earlier version of Android N. I posted here and heard back that Garmin will support N, but not until much closer to the actual release date.

I agree that the way it works now the notifications have no value on N.
