Retired gear may be selected for activities

On GC Web, only gear which is active may be selected for an activity.
When trying to select activity gear for an activity on the Android version, all gear is shown as option, including retired gear.
Anyone else find it odd?

We know about it. It's not the only oversight in that department, either.
