Just got my wife a forerunner 25, first run it sync just fine but the second run wont sync. The watch is getting notifications from the phone... Any way to force the sync?
  • For me, just toggling the display on Mobile Connect triggers a sync. If that doesn't work use Express. If you're still having issues, perhaps you can import it manually through Connect.
  • Any way to force the sync?
Does switching off Bluetooth on the FR25, and then switching it back on, while the watch is in physical range of the previously paired, Bluetooth-enabled mobile device on which the Garmin Connect Mobile app is open trigger a sync for you?

Disclaimer: I don't have an FR25, but only and FR235. I know that smartphone notifications can continue to be received on the watch even when the Garmin Connect Mobile app is not running/open on the mobile device that is producing the notifications, if the paired devices remain connected via Bluetooth.
  • To me, toggling Bluetooth will correct connection issues between the watch and the phone but is unlikely to help sync issues. Putting the phone into airplane mode or rebooting would be a better solution as it also affects wifi or your data connection. When you come out of airplane mode, after a minute or 2, all those connections are renewed.
