Edge 810 not pairing with my phone

Hi all, this is my 1st post, so please be gentle with me :)

I'm a very experienced racing cyclist (ie I'm old!) but very new to my Garmin 810. So far I'm loving it and looking forward to all the things it can tell me about myself, and to help me train more effectively in the future.

But, to my little problem: I got the 810 a couple of months ago and all was fine and dandy...I downloaded the Garmin maps, set the unit up, paired it with my Samsung S4 Mini, and went off to Majorca for a warm weather training camp. A few days in and I got mugged one evening, near my hotel. I'm fine, no lasting damage, but my phone and my bank cards got stolen. Returning home, I put a new SIM in an old phone, a Motorola G. It's from my last contract and luckily I'd kept it. It's only a couple of years old but after installing the Garmin Connect App which worked so perfectly in my Samsung, the Bluetooth in the phone doesn't even see the Garmin. I'm not doing anything stupid (I don't think!) and when I get the phone to search for Bluetooth devices, it sees my computer and it reliably connects with the Parrot handsfree kit in my car, just like it always did when it was my regular phone.

Any ideas, or anyone had the same problem with the same phone?

I finally got it to work, now it seems to work with no issues. The problem seems to be the first connection.

Well, whaddya know? After several attempts and various combinations of Bluetooth/device on/off, my phone finally saw my 810. Even then, it took about 3 attempts to actually pair the devices. I don't really know which combination did the trick, it was just persistence, so for encouraging me to try again, I thank you!

I then managed to upload my last few rides since returning home from Spain, to my 'new' Moto G phone. Time will tell as to whether next time I actually go for a ride with the phone in my back pocket, everything will automatically pair up and work as intended. But I shall report back! :o

Edit: And for the record, I think my Moto G is 2013 too. Too much of a coincidence?
