Default Sync only works with location services turned on

I own a FR235 and a Nexus 5x.
Since few weeks I'm only able to sync when location services are turned on.
This problem was introduced after an update of Garmin Connect. It first asked for location service permissions, and then keeped asking to turn location services on.
Also a fresh install of the phone an GC did not help.
Garmin support does not respond via email.
Am I the only one with this problem?

Where did you find the apk of garmin connect version 3.08? I have a Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. I also like to go back to software version 3.08

unfortunetly it is not working with my Z3C (Cant install :( )

Could somebody check that latest GCM version require localisation to be turned on? On Fenix3 and/or Epix? I heard rumors that it isnt needed anymore!

Uh, localisation (or L10N) has a rather different meaning in the context of IT, or of apps and operating systems, from enabling GPS (or Location) service on a platform.

By the way, if you were basically asking a favour of others, saying “please” would be appropriate.

On Fenix3 and/or Epix?

I don't have one of those, so if your question and/or interest is that narrow, then I'm afraid I can't help you, sorry.

However, I'd be happy to volunteer my other findings here for general interest that some fellow customers and forum members may have.

Running Garmin Connect Mobile 3.11 (N.B. not 3.11.1) for Android, on my Samsung Galaxy Tab·S recently upgraded to Android 6.0.1, the app is able to connect to my Garmin Forerunner 235 without Location service being enabled on the tablet. In fact, I've made a point of going in the Application Manager and revoked GCM's permission to use Location, and still it manages to connect to and sync with my watch.

Yes, i have tested Xperia Z3 and Fenix3 and it work without localisation. Its finally time to upgrade to 6.x on my Z3C ;P
