Could someone explain to me the difference between the bluetooth connection beween my garmin 230 and my android phone and my wireless headset/spkrs and my android phone? So, with the garmin 230, when it's connected, the bluetooth notification icon on my phone does not go solid like it does with headset/spkrs. Also the garmin 230 doesn't show up under bluetooth devices in android bluetooth settings. Obviously it is paired/connected since data and settings go back and forth and I can sync just fine. I just don't get why it doesn't show in bluetooth devices or change the icon to solid when connected with the phone? It's like its a ghost connection.
The Forerunner 230 is a bluetooth low energy device. Unlike some other apps on the market, Garmin controls the bluetooth pairing and setup all within the app itself, and therefore, you will not see the device listed in the paired section of the phone's operating system's bluetooth screen. This is on purpose.
