A problem occurred while attempting to sign into Garmin Connect.

I cannot log in to Garmin Connect on my Android, it used to work perfectly for months.

3.3.1 does not fix this issue, as others on the board also attest - I've tried, many times.

I have a HTC desire released Autumn 2015 - no issues with connectivity for a multitude of other apps/browser etc

I use facebook as my account which I know is good
- I can use a browser, a new login in private mode with no old cookies etc, and log in to connect that way
- When I log in via the app it asks for my FB details, I know the username and pass are good because it then asks for code generator, the code is accepted and the wheel spins, it then reports an error occurred.
- each time there after unless I remove the app or delete its data, it simply reports

"A problem occurred while attempting to sign into Garmin Connect."

I have tried removing the app and deleting its data, resintalling from google play, reseting the phone
The app simply will not log in.

Its very annoying, I've spent hours over the last week uninstalling, wiping phone, all to no avail.

The only reference I can find from hours of googling is this will not work as im on WiFi not cellular - but im abroad and my smartphone is not data connected on the cellular line, only wifi -- wifi is working, all other apps and login is partially sucessful

At a guess I would presume Garmin connect is trying to gather some cellular/marketing blah on connet and this is breaking the app 100%

how to fix - where is 3.3.2 that allows logon from phone with cellular disabled on and on wifi??
  • Two factor authentication?

Totally guessing here, but is it possible that you recently enabled two-factor authentication on Facebook? I can imagine that might cause difficulty.
