GC cannot read workout details from training plan

Looks it happened during recent GC update.
I see my calendar, can go into a single day and see the title for the workout.
As soon as I try to look into details of that workout I get
'Error downloading workout steps'

It works fine for stand-alone workouts (I.e. not workouts that are in training plan in calendar

Any ideas how to fix?

I have the same issue going on with my Mobile Connect as well. Sent Support an email yesterday but no response as of yet!

Fixed it by downgrading to previous version of GC (downloaded from web, can share a link if you wish).
Later in 235/ 630 thread saw report that garmin fixed it (not tried though)

I'd be gratefully of the link please, cannot read the workouts. It was my only reason for buying the forerunner!

You need to allow 3rd party apk installation on your phone

Also note that on this thread they say it has been fixed in the most recent GC update https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.php?343184-Garmin-Connect-workouts-sync-problem
Never tried myself, but there is definitely an update dated Feb, 13 (the version with the issue is Feb 09)

PS, and in response 'cannot read workouts' - just send the full training calendar to the watch and don't care about reading workouts on your mobile.
The only reason I read them on the phone is to read comments. The rest can be read on the watch itself

I see this thread is 7 years old! I just got a FR255 and have the same error message. Is it too optimistic to think it got fixed? Thanks in advance for any clues to remedy this.

Same problem for me, with the self-guided Olympic Triathlon training plan. I can see the workout in the calendar and on the watch but I get an error message whenever I want to see the workout details in the app. Seems to work fine for other workouts that are not part of this plan.

I may have worked this out; So, Details of the workout are NOT available in the connect App. Genius eh? So its desk top or watch only for breakdown of workout. Or keep a tab open on your phones internet to view or edit on the go.
