Gear is not updated

I created a pair of shoes in the gear page. I told it to apply everything to those shoes. I have no "Activities" (Its all steps). But the gear (shoes) never get updated. I've logged over 150k steps. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

"gear" is only used with activities. Not for daily steps. If you record a run for example, you can assign gear to it (manually or automatically). What device do you have?

Same problem - km updated on the gear page initially, then stopped and hasn't updated since.

Just tried manually adding an activity to my shoes by clicking on "gear" on an activity opened from the activities tab. I never used to have to add the km manually. Surely I don't have to add the gear every time if I'm only using one pair of shoes!

I have the vivosmart. I was hoping that 'Activities' weren't the problem. It's ridiculous to me that my normal activity (i.e. steps) during the day don't count for anything regarding my gear. When ConnectMobile tells me that I've logged over 57 miles in the last month, I certainly didn't do it bare-footed.... Why should I have to tell it I'm going for a walk when its tracking my steps anyway. But if that's the way its programmed for the gear, I guess that's just a useless screen to me. I'm walking and trying to lose weight to prepare for hip surgery. Just thought it would be cool to see how many miles I put on my shoes... oh well. Thanks for the Info.
