Vivoactive and Text Notification issues

Hello,

I recently got a vivoactive, which I love. However, I've been having intermittent issues with text notifications not putting up a push notification.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 with the most recent Connect Mobile app, and I've updated my watch to the most recent build.

Basically, I DO get text notifications, but I have to scroll over to the notifications page to see them. I will get maybe one in ten where I get the buzz/push notification to inform me that I have a text message. Otherwise, I just have to periodically scroll over to see if I have a text message.

I'm not having this issue with Facebook or e-mails, only text messages. Again, I'll get the notification, it just isn't pushing through as a notice with a buzz.

What I've tried so far:

- Factory reset of the watch.
- Deleted the app and reinstalled it
- Put a lock screen on phone to verify phone was on "lock" when getting messages.

Any ideas? I've tried to search the forums, but everything I've come across seems to be related to not getting notifications at all or not being able to read them, not issues just with the push/buzz.

    Text message fix

    Go to your text messages app on the phone (like you are reading a message, tap the lower left corner to open settings, tap setting, tap notifications (toward the bottom), check the box that says "preview message" Worked on Galaxy S4 with Garmin 520, Fenix 2 and Vivosmart HR.

    It was already checked. Like I said, I will sometimes get the push notification on my Vivosmart, just not every time. For example, this morning I got a text message, which buzzed onto my vivosmart. I pulled out my phone and responded, relocked the phone, and about 5 minutes later I got another text message, but this time it did not buzz on my watch, just on my phone.

    I got a text message from my sister and wondered why I didnt get a messag.

    Even though it did say text notifications, in the garmin connect app, I had to add the messenger app for notifications. I hope this helps.

    I just got Vivoactive3 smart watch. I have Samsung S8 phone, Garmin Connect app on the phone and the watch is connected. But I dont get any notification on my watch regarding messages, messenger, email or phone calls.

    Anyone know about fixing this?

  • Looks like it may be fixed by doing a "Force Stop" on the Connect app and then restarting. Seems to have worked for me with Samsung S9 and the Vivoactive 4 - so far.
