Past days showing wrong step goal

Hi, I'm a newish vivofit2 user with Garmin Connect on my Samsung phone. I've had everything set up to autocalculate my steps goal, which has gone from ~7000 to almost 10k in the past month. I'm sending screenshots of my success every day to a friend as motivation.

Today when I went to l sync and look at yesterday's steps screen, I noticed that my goal changed from 9800 to 6375. As scrolled back, I realized all the days except today are now 6375, so my badges are out of whack (186% of goal instead of 110%, e.g.). I didn't change any settings, and my graph of the last 7 and 30 days still show the correct goals. Today's screen also shows the correct step goal.

I'm worried that this will mess with the auto-determination of new goals. I'm very much motivated by seeing my old goals and performance change through time. My vivofit got me off the couch and I'm losing writhe and way more active now - just don't want to jeopardize it by losing my motivation.

Don't know if this is a regular quirk that will self correct or a bug. It was working fine yesterday morning.

The connect app shows the wrong steps against what my vivofit device does too, also shows my goal for today as 7,154, yet device states 8,975, I think there's definitely a bug in the app.
