Vivosmart HR and Garmin Fenix3 on same Garmin connect account

Does somebody use this combination. Is it possible to use the VSHR as a "daily tracker" and use the Fenix 3 to track the training, what will the result be in Garmin Connect ? Will the training session with the Fenix 3 override the readings from the VSHR in that period of time ? Any idea`s ?
  • That is exactly what you should do. Start your activity on the Fenix and the HR will continue counting steps.

Most people I know do it that way.

Understand that, but my question was, what will the readings in Garmin connect look like after i sync both devices after that workout, will Fenix3 override the reading from the HR during the workout ?
  • The HR will continue counting steps if it is defined as your primary tracker. Just the activity will sync from the fenix and steps would be ignored.

I don't pay attention to it so I'm not sure about what would happen with calorie counts though. In the past, there have been posts in the forum about how Connect was smart enough to handle that and also posts about double-counting calories. Perhaps sopmeone else can answer that.

The double-counting of calories can be edited in the Garmin Connect, so can live with that. Do you have any idea of how fast the battery will drain if i use the VSHR as a replacement for the chest strap ?
  • Obviously, the answer to your question about battery life would depend on how long your activities are.
Someone else might be equipped to answer.

Of course you right, i talking about 2,5 hour on my bicycle, that`s a normal ride for me , so let`s say the estimated battery life is "up to 5 days" , how much will 7,5 hours in broadcast mode drain the battery ? What can i expect , 3 days, 4 days ?
