Sync fails

Hi there.

I can't sync my Vivofit 2 with Garmin Connect Mobile no more. As well as the Garmin Express from my computer won't let me sync either. The same message - sync failed.

I tried removing the Vivofit 2 from Garmin Connect Mobile just to set it up again. Then it wouldn't let me connect Vivofit 2 to the app again. Just a hint, when I did this it also deleted the heart rate setting from my Vivofit 2 which makes it completly useless for me. And I cannot get it back. Probably just until it's been fixed. Be carefull not to make the same mistake as I did there.

So, anyone else experiences falied syncs with their devices?
  • The Garmin servers have been down for maintenance since last night. They are coming back up now.

    I'm still unable to sign in on the app even though the Garmin site says it's back up.

    I had the same sync issue as everyone and tried deleting all app data (which forces a login) but have not been able to login. I've checked my credentials by signing out of the web and signing back on.

    I see that Garmin is back up and scheduled maintenance is done, but I still cannot sync my Vivosmart - any ideas on when that is going to be fixed?

    fenix3 watch - same problem

    fenix3 watch won't sync at all (has to be said that it usually struggles to synchronise at the best of times).

    I can only think that Garmin has fouled the system up again with today's "maintenance":(


    Sync fails with VA on 2 different smartphones.
    This only started this afternoon.
    All morning the Servers were down, so I couldn't connect, so no chance to sync.
    Now the Servers are back up I have all my data in Connect from the server but cannot sync my VA to get last night & today's data.
    I can only assume it's an issue on the Garmin side, especially as many people have reported the exact same problem.
    It would be helpful if Garmin acknowledged the issue, stating what causing it and the time frame to fix it. Ideally the latter should be hours and not days.
    This would stop users attempting to solve the issue on their device and or smartphone.
  • I would imagine. The worst is over and it shouldn't be too long now. Of course, the only 2 items that are still down are steps and sleep syncs - something most of us really depend on.

    No sync....

    I keep on getting the message "sync fail".

    It connects and starts uploading data and then the message pops up.

    Just when I thought they had finally resolved most of the issues..........
  • At this moment steps and sleep will fail. I did successfully upload two activities today without any issues.
  • Well its nearly 10 pm in the UK & the sleep & step servers are still down.
    So that's nearly a full day.
    Why not revert to the previous server builds that worked & investigate the current build issues offline? At least that way you'll keep your customers happy.
    Come on Garmin tell us what is going on.
    More importantly tell us when the servers will be online again.
    Finally, every server downtime compounds the lack of local data & sync, a feature that many in the user community would welcome with open arms.
  • Still not possible to sync steps and sleep (at least). Just checking if that's still the case for everyone or if the issue is on my side now.
