  • The possibility to change the exiting course in Garmin Connect Mobile -> just to reverse the course!
  • I'd just like a "sync" button.

I can't find any surefire way to actually sync with my Fenix 3.
Scrolling down to refresh doesn't do it.
Closing and reopening doesn't always do it.

Why can't there just be a "Sync" button?

The user experience team thought about putting an icon on the devices dashboard that would allow you to force a sync (if the app is connected to the Garmin device). It didn't make it in to version 3.0, though.

For your Fenix 3, you can force a sync by going to Settings->Bluetooth->Sync. The app & the watch have to be connected. The way this works, is, the Fenix 3 will tell the app "here are some files for you to send up to Garmin Connect server". GCM does this. Connect takes the data, dumps it into databases, etc. Then, GCM, depending on the screen being loaded, calls Connect to get the data for the screen. If Connect is still "working" on the data, it may not be immediately available in GCM. Hope this helps.

    Hey Doug!
That's interesting. I am aware of how to force a sync through the Fenix, it's what I usually end up doing, but an icon on the devices dashboard in GCM would be much less fiddly :) Especially if I have a coat on and can't access the watch as easily as the phone.
Good to know that at least Garmin considered it, and maybe it'll pop up in the future...
    Have a great weekend!
