Problem here with wife's FR220. After her Nexus 5 ota updated to Android 6, GCM can no longer pair Bluetooth...

I'm holding off on updating my phone ota Android 6 for fear I'll lose my bluetooth connect to GCM on my 920XT. Anyone know if GCM bluetooth is working with Nexus 5 Android 6 and 920XT?

Seems you folks should be complaining to your cell providers for breaking your phone.
THEY broke something that was built to their specs with the android update... Looks like they broke BLE. It is NOT a Garmin issue, as it works on Android 4 and 5...

So I've heard from one of my developer collegues that, yes, it seems that Google's 6.0 (Marshmallow) has broken some BLE functionality. He said if you turn on the phone's GPS, he's been able to re-establish BLE connectivity. I'm thinking the same thing you are... why would GPS have anything to do with the BLE chip? I don't know (and neither does my colleague), but it worth a try. We're working on it!

    It worked!

Anyone still having issues pairing or staying connected with Android 6.0 should go into their Settings - Apps - Garmin Connect Mobile - Permissions and make sure that GPS is turned on. If you have been unable to pair, try pairing after this. Feel free to report any findings on this thread!

I've had this same issue with my FR220 since updating my nexus 5 to OS6. Checked Garmin Connect, it had GPS permissions turned on. I then went into phone settings and switched on GPS (Location) and my FR220 connected in about 2 seconds.
    Thanks!

I went into settings and allowed High Precision Location and pairing started to work.

I have a OnePlus 2, and this issue still seems to be there. I had to find it by trial and error and then it got confirmed to me by this thread. Thanks!

At the same time, Garmin should put a warning in the app. As it is now it's extremely confusing. As they warn to switch BT on, they should warn to switch the Location services on.
