Garmin Approach G8 Smart Notifications not working

Hi, I have just purchases a Garmin Approach G8 and installed Garmin Connect on my Nexus 4 running Android 5.1.1. The devices have paired the setup files successfully transferred and I can synchronise golf scorecards although I cannot delete any on the Android or web. The problem is that Smart Notifications are not working. They are show in Connect as "Enabled, 0 Subscriber(s)". If I look in the Android bluetooth pairing the only service I can see is "input device". The device is running BLE. I have tried deleting non-English language files as that caused an issue on other devices but made no difference here. Can anyone suggest what I can do to get Smart Notifications working?

    I still cannot get smart notifications to be sent to my phone.
    • The Approach is paired with the phone and golf scores are synced.
    • The Android Connect App is allowed to receive notifications in security settings.
    • On the Approach accessing Notifications will either show "Not Connected" if the phone is not there or "No Notifications" if it is. This to me shows the bluetooth connection is working.
    • All appropriate Apps are selected in Connect to show notifications.
    • The Apps will show notifications in the notification bar on the phone at all times.


    I assume that the phone is either not sending notifications to the Connect App or the Connect App is not forwarding them to the device.

    Are there any settings I have overlooked?

    Now Fixed

    The Approach G8 firmware upgrade from V2.80 to V3.00 fixed this issue.
