Bluetooth Sync Problem: FR220 to Nexus 4

Hi!

I've got a brand new Garmin Forerunner 220 with the newest firmware (updated with the Garmin Express Windows program) and a Google/LG Nexus 4 Android phone with Android 4.4.4. Pairing the FR220 with the phone always only works for once, but doesn't re-establish a connection later.

So, I turn on Bluetooth on the phone and on the FR220. In the Garmin Connect Mobile App it shows my FR220 and that it is waiting to connect. On the FR220 I select "pair", then it shows a 4-digit number. After a few seconds, on the phone, the same number is displayed and I can pair the two. Then all new activities are synchronized (which takes a few seconds). Everything perfect. Then I switch off Bluetooth on both devices to save energy.

The next day I activate Bluetooth on the phone and on FR220. On the FR220 I do NOT select "pair", because the two already should know each other. Both devices have Bluetooth enabled and searching for each other. But they do not connect. :-(

To re-establish a Bluetooth connection, I have to go through the whole pairing procedure again.

Unfortunately Garmin Express doesn't work on Linux, therefore I have to rely on Bluetooth to sync the FR220 (the first Garmin Express stuff was done on a friends PC, and I don't want to bother him after every activity). This makes the problem even worse.

How can I solve this problem?

Thanks

    Bonsoir,

J'ai exactement le même problème que vous, depuis la mise à jour de l'application Garmin Connect. Dimanche cela fonctionnait bien, cela ne fonctionne aujourd'hui.

    Good evening

I have exactly the same problem as you, since the update of the Garmin Connect application. Sunday it was working well, it works today.

  • Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, updating the Garmin Connect application on my phone didn't improve the situation. Today I struggled for 20 minutes until the FR220 and the phone talked to each other. :-(
