Does anyone know a good up for Gamin Forerunner 55 that shows actual elevation and elevation gain during an activity?

Hi,

Does anyone know a good up for Gamin Forerunner 55 that shows actual elevation and elevation gain during an activity?

I tried several, but they dont seem to work very well or dont show the correct figures.

You do not need an IQ app. Just add the elevation / elevation gain data fields to your activity data screens, if they are not already there. However, AFAIK Forerunner 55 does not have the barometric altimeter, so you can have the GPS calculated elevation only, and its accuracy is very limited - in contrary to the horizontal accuracy (5-15m), the vertical accuracy is rather +/-120m (400 ft).

There is no data field for elevation in Forerunner 55(or at least my watch does not have it).

Thanks for explaining the accuracy for the gps calculated one...this may be the issue why the app i am using is off most of the time.
