Garmin watch cant function without cloud?

Why… my watch cant function without cloud? Why need internet connection for me to access details on my watch? I cant use my watch offline? Why?

You can use the watch offline. The internet connection is needed only for the weather info, and for the GPS ephemeris data updates.

You cannot use the Garmin Connect Mobile app offline, because it relies on the data stored on the servers. You can, however, use for example the Garmin Explore app for some basic offline functionality, and there are also some 3rd party tools, like for example the Golden Cheetah, and similar, that can store the data locally.
