I never get update notifications

In the Connect IQ Android app I have the settings: Auto Update: off, Update Notifications: on, but I never ever got any update (I suppose it should come either as a push notification on the android or as a notification on the watch?) even though when I open the CIQ app once in a while I usually see that I have pending updates. (I have my FR245 for almost a year)

The Update notification is only displayed in the Connect IQ Store app as a banner at the top. There are no Android notifications or watch notifications. I checked and the banner is displayed after the app sections in My Device are loaded.

If so then it's kind of useless... Basically what it means that I need to open Connect IQ once in a while anyway, and check if there are updates, so it only "saves" me the click on "My Device" to see if I have updates.
And actually it's even annoying: when I open the app and start to search for something, then the banner covers it.

Would be nice to get some real notification either on the watch or in the phone.
