I had a problem recently where the Quickdraw paths on my MFD (GPSMAP 8610) suddenly vanished at a critical time. I noticed that they were still on my phone and so that is how I was able to cope. I later realized that when Quickdraw information is being uploaded from my phone to the MFD that the MFD does not display them. I have been using Quickdraw quite a bit in uncharted areas of the Tuamotu Atolls, this means the paths may not be visible for a long time while updating. I made the mistake of updating right before entering an uncharted area.
I think it would be better if the status of Quickdraw data was clearer. Here are two simultaneous screen grabs of the ActiveCaptain phone app and the MFD status. Note that the phone gives no clue as to what is going on and remember that the MFD is not displaying Quickdraw data during this time. The MFD status is accurate but buried and you have to know where to get it. This behavior is dangerous and random if you don't know where to look.

I think the status on the ActiveCaptain App on the phone could be improved. If it is uploading data to the MFD, it should say so.
