Active Captain Sync ipad to iphone

Logged in to same account on both ipad and iphone and when I set routes or waypoints on the ipad (easier to do research there), I’m not seeing them on the iphone.  Any ideas?

  • I have the same issue. Any thoughts from anyone?

  • Garmin said this is a feature there’s no plan to be able to sync between an iPad and iPhone or any mobile device so what I have to do is sync my iPad to my Garmin then sync my iPhone to my Garmin and that’s how I get it done

  • I reached the same conclusion. It is unfortunate, since it means that a route planned on an iPad (which is so much easier than doing it on an iPhone) requires taking the iPad to the boat. What a pain. It's funny they call that a "feature." Oh well.

  • Seems like just insanity on Garmin’s behalf. Navionics has cloud sync; they ought to be able to re-use the code. Garmin may make solid hardware, and be fairly solid on the water, but overall their software (across their entire product line - not just boating) is lamentable.

  • I don’t get it either, seriously, why they don’t merge these products and be done with it.

  • Given Garmin’s comparatively lamentable track record around software innovation, I’m actually fairly happy it has not merged these. Navionics is by far the better piece of software, and I nearly always make my routes there first and export them to ActiveCaptain. The slightly ugly part of that is that Navionics exports waypoints with ugly auto-generated names, and mmakes way too many of them. I have to clean up the route once it’s in Active Captain, especially if I want to preserve a waypoint for future. But I lI’ve with that trouble because Navionics is so much better. If Garmin actually tried to merge these products right now, I can’t imagine the Frankenstein that would emerge.
