Active captain smart notifications won't connect automatically

This has been happening since I first owned my Garmin Echomap UHD 73sv, and I can't seem to solve it.

On my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, in the Active Captain app, in the Sync with Plotter menu, I choose under SMART NOTIFICATIONS "View Paired Devic..", where I can see my ECHOMAP UHD 73sv listed. But it says "Not Connected".

To get it to connect, each time I must select "Pair with Another Chartplotter", and it will find my 73sv, and I'll recieve notifications from my phone on the 73sv.

But why do I have to do this search each time? It should reconnect as my 73sv is already displayed in the "Paired "Devices" list.

It's very annoying! 

My UHD 73sv has the most up to date firmware (27.10). Active Captain is also at the latest version (35.1.2623). My Samsung S22 Ultra is also updated to the latest versions of Android and its firmware. 

This feature is important to me, as I can't see my phone on my SeaDoo,  and the 73SV let's me know if I have an important phone call or text message.

Does anybody else see this issue?

How do I solve it?
