Heart rate recording in swimming

My Garmin fenix5 doesn't record the heart rate while swimming

Isn't there this function in swimming only?

Also, it doesn't record the time for splits (it's set for alerts at 100m, but it doesn't record the time for each 100m if i swim more than 100m)

You have to have a HRM-Swim to measure the heart rate while swimming.
How are you doing your workouts? I have set up my swims with a slight break between sets. After the workout the app tells me that my swim was 1:43/100. I see that on the site as well.

Sorry, but i don't know what's the HRM-Swim

That 1:43/100 is the pace, doesn't help

HRM-Swim is the heart rate monitor. Garmin currently has the HRM-Tri, HRM-Run, HRM-Dual, and HRM-Swim. I believe that only the Swim and the Tri work while swimming, but I can't talk to that with authority.

If you go into the app, you should see your splits if you click on the arrow next to the under intervals. I hope I'm getting close to your answer.
