Activity not showing up

(I posted this in the vívofit forum, but maybe this is a better place)

For the first time an activity is not showing up in Garmin Connect. That's frustrating...

I did two runs (4 km and 1 km). I manually synced, but get an error message. I tried again and then only the 1 km run did show up.

I manually synced several times, but the 4 km is gone... Is it possible to retrieve this activity?

I am sorry that you are having trouble syncing your activity. I see that the activity was uploaded but the file was corrupt which is why Garmin Express displayed the error. Unfortunately there was no data in the file to recover. You can double-check and see if there is a file on the computer still but if there is, it is most likely corrupt as well as something seems to have gone wrong when the activity was actually being recorded by the watch.

To activity files on the computer:
    • Open Finder
    • Click Go in the menu bar
    • Hold down the Option key and click Library
    • Open the Application Support folder
    • Open the Garmin folder
    • Open the Express folder
    • Open the RegisteredDevices folder
    • Open the unit ID folder
    • Open the FIT_TYPE_4 folder

If there are any files in this folder you can try manually uploading them to Garmin Connect. If the files do not already have the .fit extension, you may need to rename them and add .fit to the end of the file names.

    Thanks Jason.

I tried, but the file seems corrupt. Strange.

Make sure Garmin Express is up to date. How do I update Garmin Express?

It is possible that the activity file is corrupt. That would be rare, but possible. If the file is named correctly ( example: 653453434.fit ) and Garmin Connect rejects it then it is corrupt. Delete the file so it will not inhibit future syncing.

If you continue to have troubles I suggest you contact Garmin Product Support by phone.

Garmin Express is and was up-to-date.

    I'll delete the file.
