Garmin Express can't connect with ANT dongle on MacOSX 10.11 El Capitan public beta

I upgraded to the MacOSX 10.11 El Capitan public beta, and now Garmin Express cannot connect to my ANT dongle.

Garmin Express says "ANT stick is disconnected" even though it's plugged in. When I unplug it and replug it again, it says "ANT stick is connected" for a few seconds, then switches back to disconnected.

It still shows up in System Information, see screenshot:

The ANT stick is a Suunto Movestick Mini, and I'm trying to sync a Garmin Forerunner 910xt.

Sorry for the troubles you are experiencing. Unfortunately the help we can provide is very limited as you are using a non supported OS and you are using a 3rd party ANT stick. Essentially the device should connect the same but there may be slight differences and with a Beta OS this brings up even more issues. You may want to try: What troubleshooting steps should I try if I am unable to pair my ANT fitness device to Garmin Express?

The other thing I would suggest is to change the OS back to the previous version you had when I assume the ANT stick and Express were communicating.

    Hi Henrik242

I will probably not help you much but i have the exact same issue. Upgraded to El Capitan beta and even i'm using the Original Garmin ant stick, Garmin express will not connect to the agent and download new data from my Garmin 910t.

I have tried to remove Garmin express, reboot, and reinstall garmin express. There is still no connectivity to the ant stick.

  • I've logged this under a feedback report to Apple, as I am experiencing the same issue. Garmin won't be able to resolve this, it'll be an issue with the new OS X and hopefully will be resolved once Apple issue an update to the beta software
