Garmin Forerunner 310 XT not detected on Mac Yosemite

Former Member

Hi,

I had bought a Garmin Forerunner 310XT last December (with Ant stick). I was using it fine on my windows PC until May.
I then bought myself a Mac which operates on OS X Yosemite. I downloaded the Garmin Express for Mac, and I have not been able to get Garmin Express to detect my device.

I have already tried a hard reset as suggested by some similar threads.
For some reason, I don't seem to get GE to recognise my 310XT. Is there issues with swapping the Ant stick from PC to Mac??

Any help would be appreciated. The device has been just sat on my desk gathering dust!

The ANT Stick is multi-platform and works on both PC and Mac. First verify that the Mac is detecting the ANT Stick:

How do I verify a physical connection of a USB ANT Stick to my computer?

If the ANT Stick is detected, is your Forerunner 310XT in pairing mode?

Why won't my ANT device pair with a second computer?

If you are still experiencing difficulties, contact Product Support by phone for further assistance.

    Thanks Lisa,

I was suspecting that the Ant Stick was not being recognised.

I cannot find the System Information/System Profiler to manually look for the Ant Stick on my Mac.
I don't have access to a PC at the moment, but I think I used it until a week before I last had my PC. Didn't remember ever having any issues.

I have contacted customer support, but any ideas or suggestions to try and detect the ant stick?

    Cheers

What version of the Mac OS X are you running? The instructions in the FAQ should work to locate the System Information/System Profiler on any Mac OS X 10.6 or newer. Here are the instructions:

    • Click on the Apple icon (upper left-hand corner)
    • Click About this Mac
    • Click More Info (skip this step if the More Info button is not present)
    • Click System Report (skip this step if the System Report button is not present)
    • The System Information/System Profiler application will open
    • Click on USB in the left column

If you are still unable to locate the System Information/System Profiler, contact Product Support by phone. One of our Mac Software Agents can remotely connect to your computer and assist with this.
