I today got my phoenix 3, and right away, when I connected it to mac I got the same message, for me with brand new watch this is INSANE!

Can you please advise us what to do here, and how to proceed!?

Same for Vívosmart. I have just unboxed this nice piece, followed instructions on Garmin website but no chance at all to do update because this device is not compatible with Express (on Mac). It's really strange. Garmin team, please do some action!

I guess that support team is off on weekends, hopefully somebody will help us tomorrow.

By the way I guess in mine case is the software issue because version on Fenix 3 is : 2.30
And by reading the forums, it's obvious that I need to update it.

I have the same problem and it definitely has to be Garmin Express problem for Mac.
On the same MacBook running Windows 8.1 in Parallels I'm using Garmin Express for Windows and everything works fine.

Strange is that my wife is using her Fenix 3 and no problem with Garmin Express for Mac.

I tried to add mine Fenix 3 to her Garmin Express but it failed as well.

    Wonder what is the problem
  • I am sorry about the trouble with Garmin Express. If any of you are still experiencing this, please make sure that there is nothing that may be interfering with the connection to our servers by following the instructions in this FAQ:What should I do if I receive a server error while using Garmin Express?

If this does not solve the problem, please contact support by phone.

After making my previous post, I did notice the other posts about this same issue and also worked with a customer over the phone. I have been unable to duplicate the problem here but I did create a case to have the problem investigated.

  • Everyone,

We are seeing this issue when trying to add devices using computers that are set to certain region formats. We are working to correct this issue but in the meantime, you may be able to add your device to Express by following these instructions:
    • Click the Apple icon
    • Click System Preferences
    • Click Language & Region
    • Change the Region to United States under Americas (Other regions will work as well but I know this one will work)
    • Add the device to Garmin Express
    • Change the region setting back
