Servers unavailable

Hi,
Just received an Edge 1000 as a present. It's running v2.8 so I thought I would update it.
So, as instructed I have created a Garmin Connect account and installed Express On my Macbook pro (OS X Yosemite 10.10.3).
I can log into my Connect account but when I run Express , it asks me to sign in with my account details.

Here I constantly get the message
"There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers
We're unable to sign you in because our servers are unavailable at this time"

I have tried a couple of suggestions regarding cookies, firewall etc but these haven't helped.

Hence my post here.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Same here with a Fenix 3 received today.

I am trying to login with my google account. It works on connect, on the iphone, but not express nor the forums... I had to create this specific garmin account just to be able to reply to you!

I am also using a Mac, obviously.

    Garmin express v 4.0.20.0, OSX 10.10.3.

Same here with a Vivofit :-( on both Windows 8.1 and OSX 10.10.x...
  • I am sorry that you all are having this trouble. We currently have a case open for this and are working to resolve this as fast as possible. In the meantime, if you have activities that need to be uploaded, they can be uploaded manually from the Fenix 3 and Edge 1000 by following the instructions here:
How do I manually upload data from USB Mass Storage devices to Garmin Connect?

Unfortunately, this will not work for uploading steps or setting up the device as the activity tracker but hopefully the Express issue will be resolved soon.

    Same Problem with Garmin Swim

I'm having the same problem with a Garmin Swim. Is there any way to manually upload data from a Garmin Swim?

Same issue with Approach G6. Get the 'unable to connect to servers' failure when trying to add new device through Express. I've tried on both a Mac and PC.

Same here with a brand new Edge 1000. Garmin Express does not allow me to set up (add) the device - Error message: ... servers unavailable. Everything else works (logon on website, logon with Garmin Basecamp, ...).

    Please fix it asap!
