Problems with map reinstall......

Former Member

So I have a brand new Kenwood DNX-4250DAB multimedia and nav unit for my car. All installed and everything fine. I was trying to upload the POI database of speed cameras, as these were not preinstalled, as they had been on my lovely Nuvi. In doing this, I managed to wipe the maps from the device. They are nowhere to be found, either on the USB I was trying to use or the microSD card.

OK, so I then found from the Garmin Express app that I could 'Reinstall Map' onto the microSD, it having picked up the ID of the Kenwood device beforehand. I then spend 4 hours downloading the Euro maps, only for the app to foul up at the end of the process saying 'Map Install Error'. It keeps doing this and I still have no maps.

Kenwood customer services seem next to useless and are now not even responding to my emails.

Can anyone help me with how to overcome this problem and get the map back onto my device, either by card or USB?? As things stand I've spent over £700 on a device that doesn't actually help me navigate as it doesn't have any maps!

All help appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Sam.

I am sorry for the troubles. I suggest you contact Garmin Support by phone and have them troubleshoot your environment. The device looks good in the database and there is no obvious reason why the reinstall wouldn't complete.

Again, I am sorry for the troubles.
