2 User Accounts on Same Mac - Cannot access Garmin Express if other is using?

My Wife and I both have Garmin Connect for her running and my Cycling and on our home Mac I have set up two user accounts. If I have attached my Garmin Edge and uploaded data but stay connected and my wife comes along with her Garmin Forerunner then we get the error message "Cannot use Garmin Express as someone else is using it". However, sometimes it seems this isn't the case... Is this because the first user has quit Garmin Express?

So do other users have any advice? Do we just need to accept a regiment of always quitting Garmin Express after a session? Why does pretty much every other MAC software manage to cope with this between separate users sessions but Garmin Express can't?

Any help appreciated

I am sorry that you are having trouble with this. We had noticed this on our Macs and have reported this behavior. The only way I know of to work around this is to only have the application running on one user profile at a time.

My wife and I have the same problem and we would appreciate the opportunity to have Garmin Express running in the background on both user accounts.
Our workaround is to upload more via Wifi or Bluetooth and when syncing via USB, close Garming Express afterwards.

We have reported this behavior but in the meantime, we did some testing on this issue on Friday and found that you can have the program running in the background on both accounts. However, the Garmin Express client (the actual user interface) must be closed to open it on the other account. Closing the Garmin Express window does not actually quit the client so you will need to click Garmin Express in the menu bar and choose Quit. As long as you have Garmin Express set to run in the background in Preferences, the service will continue running and you can open the client in another account.
