I am unable to log into Garmin Express because "There was a problem connecting to the Garmin servers." This is ALWAYS the case. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, replaced my ANT+ stick, and tried three different computers (both Mac and PC). I am able to log into Garmin Connect, but not Express, so I can't upload workouts. Any ideas?
I am sorry for the troubles. This is usually the result of corrupt data on the device itself. Performing a Master Reset on the device should correct the issue.
Please see the FAQ: How do I master reset my Forerunner 310XT?
Hello. I have the same problem, but I strongly don't want to perform a Reset because there are many, many records in my watch history. I see that this problem have a place to be since last update of Garmin Express. I'm not doing anything with my watch. Garmin Express successfully find my device, then I type my Email and password, than I look "Server connection Error" and "Sorry servers Unavailable". I don't know close translation, I see an error in russian Express. Is there no way to save my records without sinchronization with Garmin Connect servers? Any offline solutions. I'm very disappointed. I have a popular and well-attended in the Russia article about this watch. But now I want to write to all my subscribers that they enjoy the products of other brands. I hate to know that I'm advertising a product that does not work for me and other people, just because people in Garmin made a mistake and can not offer any solution other than the destruction of al data on the device.
What Curt said is correct there is most likely some corruption on the device or how it's creating the GarminDevice.xml file information. Unfortunately the way to correct this issue is with a Master Reset as already instructed. What you can try doing is uninstall Express. Once this is done you can try using the older software of ANT Agent. With the ANT Agent software try to send you data to Garmin Connect. If you are able to successfully upload your data then Master Reset the device. After the reset install Express over again. Once you have Express installed created a small test workout like a 10-20 second run and try sending. If Express sends the data though the 310XT should be good to go from that point on.
Trying these steps should hopefully save your data off your watch correct the issue with the 310XT and then allow Express to communicate with your device from this point forward.
