Garmin Swim sync error - There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect

I have just bought a new Garmin Swim. When trying to sync with Garmin Connect, I get the following error: There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect

I have uninstalled, re-installed, factory reset, etc etc, but nothing works.

I am using a Macbook Pro, Yosemite, latest Garmin Express. Any help here? Would it help using an older version of Garmin Express?

    I am sorry that you are having trouble syncing your device. Somehow, the setup of your account did not get completed properly. I have fixed the account so you should now be able to sync. In order to troubleshoot this, I did need to reset your password so you will need to click the Forgot? link when you sign in to Garmin Connect (http://connect.garmin.com) to set up a new password.

    Hi there,

    I'm also having issues with my Garmin Swim sync up. The device works fine (I've been really impressed with it!) and it was syncing to Garmin Connect via Garmin Express no problems, until I updated to the latest version of Garmin Express (4.0.8.0). Now it says 'You have items ready to install' and under details '2 Updates Available, Other items - User settings (settings), - Heart Rate (sport)'. When I click 'install all' it says it's syncing, but after a few minutes I get a red banner saying '! There was an error syncing with Garmin Connect'. Consequently my swim data is not syncing.

    Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! I'm running window 7 64-bit.

    It sounds like the downloads from Connect are causing the sync issue. Delete the SWIM from Express and Connect. Data already uploaded to Connect will not get deleted. Then add the SWIM back to Express again. If you need to send User Settings, Heart Rate data etc.. from Connect you can do so from the Device-->SWIM-->Settings-->User Settings page.
