Downloaded new Garmin Express and now 910XT will not sync (?)

Garmin Experts -

Would appreciate your help. Synced my 910XT via Garmin Express on 13 Mar 15, no problem (as I do everyday). An update for Garmin Express downloaded late on 13 Mar 15. On 14 Mar 15 I tried to sync my 910XT, but Garmin Express does not see my 910XT (?!). This is not a problem of the data downloading and not populating Garmin Connect.

As it stands now, the data is not making its way from my 910XT to my Mac. My Mac (via Garmin Express) does not see my 910XT (?). Garmin Express says "ANT Stick Not Connected".

Welcome your suggestions. Thanks. Stephen

Spoke too soon. Deleting the 910XT and then adding it back worked great yesterday. Unfortunately, I tired to download today's workout; however Garmin Express would not recognize my 910XT (back where we started). So, queuing off yesterday's fix I deleted the 910XT from GE. When I tried to add back my 910 Garmin Express could not see it! Now I am really stuck!

After several hours of frustration, I ended up uninstalling GE 4.0.8.0. I downloaded GE 3.2.29. The old version of GE had no problem finding my 910XT and downloading today's activity files. So, back in business (for the moment).

The past few days of battling buggy Garmin software is one of the reasons I went Quarq vs. Vector.
  • If Express 4.0.8 shows the ANT Stick Connected button RED when the ANT Stick is connected to a USB port on the back or side of the Mac, QUIT the Garmin Express application then QUIT the Service.

    1. To quit the Service, click the black triangle in the Menu Bar at the top of the Mac.
    2. Click QUIT
    3. Click Don't Run in Background
    4. Wait about 30 seconds then open Garmin Express from the Applications folder.

The ANT Stick Connected light should be green and Express should recognize the watch.

I am trying to duplicate the issue with Express suddenly not recognizing a 310XT or 910XT but so far I have not been able to. I will post updates, let me know if you continue to have troubles.

    Hi,

same problem with my Forerunner 610 here: updated to latest Garmin Express 4.0.8.0, device updated to version 3.00, and ... activities now refuse
to show up on Garmin connect. Some update/transfer is happening between the device and GE, but afterward... nothing.

This is really frustrating. Between this and the regular downtime / slowness / unresponsiveness of Garmin Connect, i deeply miss my
simple yet robust Garmin Center :(

    Any clue?

I would recommend resending the activities. Please try the steps in the article below:
How can I resend my history from my wireless watch to my computer?

I see one real activity and two test activities were uploaded to your account yesterday. Did you have an activity from March 17th on the 610 that is not uploading? If so restart your computer and use Alberts suggestion to resend the History. Let us know if you continue to have troubles.

OK. I back to my original problem because Garmin Express upgraded to 4.0.8.0 and will now not recognize my 910XT (once again)! See the opening thread.

Garmin - I would appreciate some assistance on this. I hope the solution is not continuously uninstalling/installing GE or removing/adding my 910XT.

I am sorry for the troubles. We have been unable to reproduce this issue in house. It has been brought to our attention but if it doesn't happen on every Mac OS 10.10.2 then it is most likely a local issue. We are collecting data on this to try and determine what may be causing the the few reports received.

If Express 4.0.8 shows the ANT Stick Connected button RED when the ANT Stick is connected to a USB port on the back or side of the Mac, QUIT the Garmin Express application then QUIT the Service.

    1. To quit the Service, click the black triangle in the Menu Bar at the top of the Mac.
    2. Click QUIT
    3. Click Don't Run in Background
    4. Wait about 30 seconds then open Garmin Express from the Applications folder.

(This is similar to restarting the computer)

The ANT Stick Connected light should be green and Express should recognize the watch.

I am trying to duplicate the issue with Express suddenly not recognizing a 310XT or 910XT but so far I have not been able to. If you continue to have troubles please contact Garmin Product Support by phone.

Appreciate your attention to my issue. Quitting GE and restarting worked (for the moment). I will post further updates if the they develop. If the original problem continues I will follow your advise and phone Garmin. Once again, thanks.

    Please help

I have just updated Garmin Express to version 4.0.11.0 I have had a Forerunner 910XT for a couple of years, I work on a Mac. I have reisntalled the software, deleted all activities from the watch and created only one from scratch as a test.
GE recognize my watch, it starts syncing but it cannot complete the operation. I get an error message prompting for the fail of the sync and the file gets stuck in
    Macintosh HD ▸ Käyttäjät ▸ danilo ▸ Kirjasto ▸ Application Support ▸ Garmin ▸ Express ▸ RegisteredDevices ▸ 3872594290 ▸ PendingSyncUploads ▸ Activities
    with the name: 2015-03-21 19/54/16 +0000_82

I also tried to rename the file as 2015-03-21 19/54/16 +0000_82.fit

and tried to upload it manually into GE, but the apge gets stuck on the "uploading..." phase and nothing happens

It seems like GC problem and not GE. What can I do ?
