Map Information and Update

Hi,

I want to update maps on the nuvi 255W (first time I'm doing this), I have the nuMaps lifetime. So I have installed the Garmin Express 4.0.6.0, connected and registered the device. And now what there is no information about maps. On the my.garmin.com under myMaps there is just link that I should manage my maps throu garmin express, but I can't see a way how to do it.

  • What map do you see listed when you go to Tools, Settings, Map, Map info on your 255?

    When you log into your myGarmin and look at the myMaps tab does it mention, under Map Updates, nuMaps Lifetime Europe?
  • I'm unclear what 'side panel' you're referring to but if there are no map updates under myMaps and not even a mention of nuMaps Lifetime Europe then what makes you believe you have lifetime maps? Did you buy your 255 with lifetime maps? Did you purchase them separately?
  • Don't appear to be any screenshots? Regardless did you purchase lifetime maps or was it specifically included when you bought your nuvi? If neither then you don't have lifetime maps.
  • That's very confusing. Map updates should appear in the myMaps tab. That it doesn't would indicate you don't have it, and why you're seeing a different screen via myProducts I'm not sure. When I do that I get the same as I do via myMaps tab.

    My only thought is that here http://www.garmin.com/en-GB/legal/lmdisclaimer there is an implication that if you don't update for 24 months your lifetime maps will end. I wonder if this has happened in your case? The relevant part is:

    A product will be deemed to be out of service and its useful life to be ended if no updates have been downloaded for such product for a period of 24 months or more.

    If you have do indeed still have lifetime maps there appears to be an issue with your account. The Express team will need to look into this for you.

    I have looked into your myGarmin account and found your Nuvi 255W. The device currently has Life Time Maps associated to it. Delete the device from Express and re add it back. There should be an option to install the 2015.20 mapping. I tested the map update for your device and Express does offer the option to install the 2015.20 Europe maps.
