Garmin Express don't syc with Edge 705 :mad:

Hi,

Everything works well till the moment i decide to setup my heart rate and power zones at Garmin Connect and then upload it to my Edge 705!

In Connect, when i selected "Send to my device" it detected the 705, i choose it and then Garmin Express, opens automatically. It takes hours, with the Express displaying a "don't turn off the device. Transferring data from Garmin Connect" message. After 6/7 hours, i disconnect 705 from the Mac, and try to re-connect it. Everything works well, except the Sync! the device connects with the Express, but remaining indefinitely displaying the message "Transferring data from Garmin Connect"

I try even to delete and re-install the Garmin Express, but always the same "Transferring data from Garmin Connect" message!

The problem is probably, some corrupted file in the Edge, since my Fénix 2 don't have any problem sync with Connect via Express!

It's possible that the file corrupted are the UserProfie.tcx or GarminDevice.xml?

How can i fix it?

    I am sorry that you are having trouble syncing your device. I don't believe that this error is due to a corrupt UserProfile.tcx or GarminDevice.xml. I would recommend following these steps:

    • Update Garmin Express to the latest version (Currently v4.0.5.0)
    • Remove your device from Garmin Express
    • Restart the computer
    • Add the device to Express again.


    If this does not solve the problem, it would be best to contact Product Support by phone.

    Hello Blueskiespt,

    You do not need Express for the 705.

    The 705 connects directly to your computer with a usb cord giving you direct access to the folders and files you record.

    Just switch to Classic > Settings > Training Zones > Under the Cycling tab set your HR & Power zones > Save > Send To Device.

    You can manually upload your 705 files directly into Connect by browsing to the Garmin drive and History folder so you do not need Express for uploading either.

    You only need Express for your Fenix2.

    It resulted!

    But the Connect can't upload the HR and Power Zones to 705. With the new version of Express, the sync of the zones defined on Connect was successful, but when i check the values in 705 aren't updated, but ok, the important is the activities, those are synchronized!

    Try editing the values on the Device -->User Settings page rather than the Profile-->Settings-->Training Zones page.

    1. Click the menu icon (lines)
    2. Click Devices
    3. Select the Edge
    4. Click User Settings

    Edit the Heart Rate Zones on this page and click Save at the bottom when done. The settings with transfer with the next Sync.
