Extremely slow sync with Forerunner 110 / Mac

I've just downloaded the new Garmin Express onto my Macbook Pro and fired up Garmin Connect to sync with a handful of new runs in my Forerunner 110. It failed at first, so I switched to Connect Classic, which was unable to upload the runs - it showed a red "X Failed" message next to each one. [1] I went back to Garmin Express (that's when I downloaded the new one) and now it's syncing, but at the current rate of completion, I expect it to take literally multiple hours to complete (if it ever completes at all). The status message underneath the completion bar has said "< 1 minute" since the moment it fired up.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work? I have another Mac and I could go try it on that but that seems silly.

Thanks, Lee

[1] I've generally had more success "uploading" on Connect Classic than "syncing" with Garmin Express.

Update: it finally succeeded after about two hours. Well, mostly succeeded - it wasn't able to sync some runs from 18 months ago, but why it wanted to do that I don't know. I mean, there were nine runs that hadn't been uploaded, back about three weeks. I couldn't figure out why it said it needed to sync 130 runs, but that's what it tried to do. Fortunately, it got the most recent ones, and the older ones are already on Garmin Connect.

We'll see what happens next time I try to sync.

    Thanks, Lee

I suggest you delete activities that have already uploaded to Garmin Connect from the Forerunner 110. If those devices get close to capacity it can effect there sync performance.
