About once a week there are issues with my vivofit syncing to Garmin Express, so once a week I will redownload the software and that usually fixes the issue. Today, however, after redownloading it, Express is just constantly saying "loading device information" so I cannot sync.
We have been having some issues with Connect today. I would try again later, or tomorrow and hopefully we should have everything corrected. I apologize for the inconvenience.
I sit about 45cm from where the ANT dongle is in my USB port and often it requires two or three attempts to see a sync happen
Often I have to also start the software ( launch it from the task bar - Garmin Express) and click on the "Device" tab and then perhaps click also on the green pair of circles ...
only then will it seem to sync
Is this normal? It is not documented this way in the documentation (which implies I need only press Sync)
It's not Connect that's the issue. It's express. The window that keeps saying "loading device information" just stays up for hours and express won't actually open.
I have the same issue. I just got a new Mac. I install Garmin Express. But, Garmin Express does not sync with my Forerunner 310XT. I tried today on my other Windows computer and Garmin Express is working fine.
I am not sure why the 310XT isn't syncing on your device. I have just tested 2 310XT devices on my Mac running 10.10.1 and the devices are found when I have Express search for them. I click enter for "yes" to pair on the watch. Enter my username and password and the devices is added to Express syncs and transfers my data to Connect. Is there any program running that could be conflicting with your syncing?
Can you try disabling any Bluetooth devices from running just see if it makes any difference? Are you up to date with the latest version of Express? The latest version at this time is 3.2.28. See FAQ: How do I update Garmin Express?
Garmin Express (Mac version) syncing issue with Garmin 310XT

The download through Garmin Express does NOT work on my Macbook. Garmin Express recognize my GPS watch. I click on use an existing account. It takes me up to the login page, when i got the error message:
“We’re Sorry …
There’s a problem with our servers, which means that Express is temporarily unavailable. We’re working as fast as we can to get it back up and running. Please try again later.”
I tried many times without success. I then tried on a Windows computer and it works fine there.
The computer I'm using is new. So far, i have installed only Garmin Express and Skype.

Exact same issue here with my Forerunner 10, have a thread going about it with no resolution, thought I'd check other Mac threads to see if anyone else with other devices is having issues :(
The problem that you are experiencing is a different issue than what is happening here. The issue that you are having is a computer-related problem. I have responded to your most recent post on the other thread.

This issue is most likely cause by the Forerunner 310XT creating a corrupt file that Garmin Express looks at to get the device's info. We have updated the PC version of Garmin Express to keep this from causing this sync issues and preventing the need for doing a master reset on the device to correct the issue. If you have a PC, I would recommend first syncing the device on the PC and the performing a master reset on the device. You can reset the device without first syncing on a PC but any data on the watch will be deleted.
