Connect / Express Messing Up

Hello,

I have an FR220 and use Garmin connect's website in combination with the Express application.

2 problems:
1- Every time I start my laptop, Express will try and install itself. Am I correct in thinking that because Express in on the watch the USB connection automatically launches the installer, and if this is correct should I delete the installer?

2- When I try and update and then push my calendar and workouts onto my 220 through Connect, Express does not seem to be able to download easily the data and appears to get stuck as per the "View Details" option under Sync . I have to do all sorts of tricks, from quitting the application to dismounting the watch's USB drive to restarting my computer for the synchronisation to happen. I have not pinpointed the order I need to do this or which of all this actually works properly, it just seems there is (a) a problem downloading the data, (b) the data gets stuck on my laptop or (c) the watch USB's connection is at fault.

Any assistance appreciated, thanks. I am getting sick and tired of messing up my training because I do not have my plans!

    When you connect the device Express will launch. If it wants to install, it typically means that you have an update for the application. I would recommend going through the installation to get updated. The current version is 3.2.26. As far as the sync goes we can go some general troubleshooting:
    • Disable security programs
    • Ensure date/time and timezone are correct
    • Follow the steps in the article: What should I do if I'm having issues with the Garmin Express client?
    • Wire directly into the modem/router
