Garmin Express Servers Not Working for Forerunner 10?

Hi
I have a new Forerunner 10 and I can't get it to sync to my Garmin Connect using Garmin Express. I had a forerunner 405 before which I have now replaced with this 10, and I have Garmin Express installed already which I use for my Nuvi. When I connect my new Forerunner 10 to my macbook using my USB cable, Garmin Express immediately recognizes it as a new device and asks me if I want to add it, so no problems there. Then it asks if I want to create a new Garmin Connect account or sync the Forerunner 10 to an existing account, so I click on existing account, enter my details, and that's where it fails, giving me the "We're sorry there's a problem with our servers" error. My partner was able to install Garmin Express on her Macbook and set her Forerunner up with no problems without getting this error message.

I have done some google searching about this error and it seems to be a common problem for other watches? I followed some of the suggested steps to resolve it, including changing my Garmin Connect password and resetting my Forerunner 10 watch to factory settings (hence losing my settings and my one run) and then tried to sync again but no joy. I even tried reinstalling Garmin Express, but still no joy.

Any suggestions are most welcome

I am getting the same error message about the server being down. I have a new Mac Laptop and can't get garmin express to work with the Forerunner 310. I tried uninstalling new app and then reinstalling it. Still did not work. I have been trying since December 19th.

Still no resolution to this even after calling customer support, being kept on hold for a really long time, trying everything they suggested (sounded like they were reading posts from this and other threads) and being told it must be my computer??? Then was told it must be because I'm using a Mac. No, it must be because I'm not using Windows. Wait, or was it because I was not using Linux? Then was told to try another computer and make sure it had Windows installed and then call back??? What???? Huh??? Finally gave up. Went back, deleted my Nuvi device off of Express. Uninstalled Express. Reinstalled Express, tried adding the Forerunner 10 with no other devices present, still nothing! Argh! There's still a problem with the servers. Seriously Garmin, what the heck?? Are there some lemons out there for which Garmin Express just won't work? I'm ready to throw my watch into the ocean and never buy another Garmin product ever again, I'm soooo frustrated!!

I am also having issues with this - I have a forerunner 210 installed no problem, but it won't add my vivosmart. Just keep saying server error

The log files submitted show that it is a cache issue with your default web browser. Garmin Express uses the browser to communicate with the server in the background. The cache and history on the browser need to be cleared. You can use this FAQ to do so: How do I clear my browser's history, cache, and temporary internet files?

I also recommend clearing out the Keychain Access Utility for the com.garmin... keychains. Here are instructions to do so:

    • Close Garmin Express and Quit out of it from the black triangle in the Apple Menu bar
    • Open Finder
    • Click Go in the top menu bar
    • Click Utilities
    • Open Keychain Access.app from Utilities
    • Click com.garmin...
    • Click Edit in the top menu bar
    • Click Delete and confirm deletion
    • Delete all com.garmin... keychains
    • Reboot the Mac

Once the Mac has rebooted, connect the Forerunner 10 and try the pairing again.

I have followed these steps one at a time, cleared the cache and history in my main browser, and the other browser in my mac (Safari) even though don't use it (just in case). I didn't have any com.garmin... keychains in my Keychain Utility, but I deleted any passwords saved for Connect and any passwords saved for any Garmin connected websites or any Garmin related anything (MapInstall, MapManager, BaseCamp). Rebooted my Mac. Connected the Forerunner again, and still nothing, I get the same message, problem with servers. This is still not working.

I am sorry that you are still having trouble with this. I have went back and reviewed the logs myself and the only thing that I saw out of place was the time. I noticed that on your account, you are GMT + 12:00 but in the logs, it shows your computer is GMT + 13:00. Please make sure that the time, date and time zone are all correct on your Mac.

Thanks for looking at the logs again Jason. The time, date, and timezone are definitely correct on my Mac. I have just double checked again to be sure. See screenshot of settings
