Garmin express servers not working

I've been trying to add my edge 1000 for 2 days, Garmin express recognises the device but then when I try to sync with existing account, I get the error message that there is a problem with the servers ?

Is this a wide problem or just ltd to me?

The Communicator Plugin is not working in the latest version of Chrome for the Mac but Safari and Firefox are still working. Please use an alternate browser.

The engineers are aware of the change.

For a second I got excited and thought that the update would solve the problem with the 310xt. Still got the message servers are ......
I feel like the it will be this way until I find another gps unit. So far runtastic pro on my phone has been my goto for mapping. The app cost a whole lot less than my garmin. Not very impressed.

Have you deleted the device from Express and Connect along with doing the Master Reset? I noticed you have never had a device associated with the svon89 display name. Is is possible you have two accounts and are not entering the correct credentials?

    Curt,
I thank you. I removed garmin express from my computer and reinstalled it and updated it several times. What I was not doing was the master reset. Once I performed the master reset it synced. The 310t used to be my wife's, and I am not the tech savvy one, so without doing the master reset, there is a chance it was still linked to her account. Now I can at least play with the watch and figure the rest out from here.
    Thank you for the update.

I'm still having the same issue and to be honest after spending best part of £500 on a Garmin 1000(the most expensive device on the market), i dont expect to have to sit around performing work arounds!! Like apple products or not, in the main they 'just work', not like these...ebay anyone?

Don't confuse suggestions for other devices or for other users as the solution for your issue. There are a lot of models referenced here and a big difference between a lot of them. I suggest you contact Garmin Support by phone and have the issue looked into further. The Unable to Connect to Services message can point to several different issues. Anything from Internet Connection issues outside Garmin's control to issues with the firmware and files on the device. This issue only effects a very small number of Edge 1000 users. A phone conversation could probably get it resolved much faster than trading limited information on the forums.

I am sorry for the troubles.

  • I am having the same problem and get the server down message, when trying to add my 310. Express worked three months ago on my PC but i put it on my wives Mac last night. Express found my 310 but when I tried to pair it i got the server down message.

I will try to use the PC again when i go to work in a couple hours.

Thanks Curt, i did try this already but wasn't any help, i'll give it another go but that is my point, I work in IT so i know that there can be issues but with consumer products, you expect them to 'just work' without having to spend hours on the phone or in forums having to find work arounds!
