Garmin express servers not working

I've been trying to add my edge 1000 for 2 days, Garmin express recognises the device but then when I try to sync with existing account, I get the error message that there is a problem with the servers ?

Is this a wide problem or just ltd to me?
  • As posted above they're aware of the issue, you'll need to wait until the Express team come back with the solution.

We are currently looking into the issue when adding the 310xt to Express getting the error "We're Sorry ...
There's a problem with our servers, which means that Express is temporarily unavailable
." We have an open ticket and this and its actively being looked at. When we hear something more on this we will up this posting.

    Thanks for your help.

I am having the same problem with my Garmin Edge 1000. I am having it on BOTH my MAC and my PC. I get the same message, and have for days. I discovered it because I could not add my wifi network to the 1000 through GE after an update wiped the networks out. I removed the 1k from GE and now cannot add it back.

I am not sure if it matters for Garmin, but I also discovered that I cannot removed the 1k from Garmin Connect, but I can remove all of my other devices. As a software guy, I wonder if there is an issue with Connect, and its inability to remove my 1k is propagating to Garmin Express through my account settings, preventing GE from adding back a device that somewhere in the dungeons of its software it thinks is already connected.......I say this because GE seems to check the servers, who may be saying "that device is already here in Connect," and the process fails and GE gives us the server error message. Just a guess.

Welcome to our little band ! Garmin have asked me to do a "Master Reset" of my 310XT - but I think that loses all my personalisation, which took ages to get right when I first set up the 310XT.

The issue in this thread is for the 310XT specifically. The issue that you are having is something different. I would request that you contact us over the phone so we can get all the information needed to report this issue.

As of today, Friday 4:17 UK time I'm still getting the ""We're Sorry ...
There's a problem with our servers, which means that Express is temporarily unavailable
." message when attempting to add my Garmin 310XT via Garmin Express.

And even more odd I then also tried to set it up on a second entirely new a/c - (hoping to be able to add the 310XT to this new a/c) - with even more weirdness !

I went thru the new a/c procedure, using a different email address/password to my existing Garmin a/c, and all seemed set up. Then tried in Garmin Connect to open it with the new a/c login - got password rejected, so then went thru the recover password procedure, got temp. password to the email address used in the setup, and used the temp.password which then I was asked to change - submitted new password - shut down Connect and got the new password rejected (Invalid sign in) when trying to use it to re-open Connect !

What is going on with this software ?????

Edit: Access gained to new G.C. a/c using the alternative of my email address instead of the name - definitely ODD !

Any update? I have a 310 xt and am still getting the "We're Sorry.... " message. I have reverted back to using runtastic on my phone in order to get my route information from my bike rides.

We are still having this issue. I apologize for the inconvenience. We will probably see an update to Express when this is corrected. I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing.

In the end I had no choice left open but to do the Garmin recommended Master Reset of my 310XT. As expected this resulted in a loss of all my personalisation; so making it necessary to re-set the watch for my running in kmeters, 1k laps, etc. - it took ages to find/remember where all the desired changes could be made. Basically it was like setting up a new watch.

HOWEVER on completion the 310XT DID let Garmin Express add it to Express and thus to my Connect a/c - so for me at least this saga is over.

However I must say that I'm used to software that "just works" and this experience has not been my happiest. And my Vivifit has now stopped syncing heart-rate data - yet another problem I don't need and with a run tomorrow at 9a.m.
(I did the run, HR was showing in real time on my Vivofit; but after subsequent syncs. the data never got to Connect)
