Problems using Garmin Express with 910XT

A few weeks ago I purchased a vivofit so I was required to update my Garmin software to Garmin Express to support the vivofit. I was able to pair both the vivofit and the 910 without problems but I have had no luck with consistently being able to sync the 910. Usually what happens is that it will say it is "preparing for transfer" but then I get an error message that the device wasn't found. On the 910, I can see the signal on the top right corner that I believe means it is trying to transfer the data but it won't work. This morning I tried at least 4 times before having to give up and get ready for work. So frustrating! My usual fix is to reinstall Garmin Express. I did that tonight (after a couple of more failed attempts) and I finally got this morning's run to upload on my second attempt.

Before changing to Garmin Express, all I would have to do is walk in from a run, get near my computer and "beep" my Garmin was automatically transferring the data. This is so frustrating to have this problem so I would appreciate any suggestions! I have had problems with it not finding the vivofit as well but I can sync that easily with my iPhone so that isn't an issue.

Garmin Express tells me that my 910 is running Version 3.0 and is current. My Mac is a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.9.5.

    Argh!!! This morning the transfer seemed to work perfectly, but nooooo my data isn't showing up in Garmin. :( Strava got it so I know the transfer was made but how do I get it to my Garmin activities now? As I said any my previous post I would appreciate any help I can get fixing my transfer issues.
  • I am looking at your account and showing that you were able to upload 4 activities on Saturday. Please let us know if you have any other problems uploading as it seems as if you were able to get it taken care of.

    First, I apologize for my post this morning. That was my error! The transfer did work (yay!) and I realized I never cleared the watch from a treadmill run on Saturday evening (which I had paused that night and forgot to restart-boo!). When I ran this morning, I guess it just continued that run. So when I uploaded the run, it put the run on Saturday's date- twice and that is why I didn't find it. I corrected that by changing the date to today and deleting the extra run. Phew!

    As for Garmin Express, I've been able to upload activities but not without lots of effort. It takes multiple times to get the data to load. I usually have to restart Garmin Express by Force Quitting or I have to reinstall it to get a transfer done. For example tonight- I just tried to sync my vivofit. It didn't work. It stayed stuck on the 910 page even though I chose the vivofit device. So I did a force quit because it wouldn't exit and reloaded Garmin express and still no luck. I tried it several times and gave up and reinstalled the software, opened Garmin Express and then the vivofit synced. That is the typical experience with me. It works but with much frustration.

    Just an update- I still had to restart Express this morning but once I did the 910 started transferring my data immediately.Yay! A first since I installed Express a few weeks ago. Keeping my fingers crossed that I won't have anymore problems.
