Hi, I have been running into issues syncing my activities via garmin express on the mac. Viewing the error log it appears to error on activities with dates that do not exist in my activity history (ie: December 30, 1989, 7:00 PM). How can I remove these from the list of activities garmin express attempts to sync to allow it to sync the remaining activities? Thanks.
That is the file that contains Tanita Health Scale if you have one. It will be a part of the Sync with Garmin Connect each time but it will not affect your actual activities.
Thanks for the clarification. However I don't own a Tanita scale and there are also ghost activities with seemingly valid dates (ie: Nov 15, 2014). The failure to sync leads to my watch entering into an infinite loop of attempting to sync until it runs out of battery. I also have a suspicion that these ghost activities failing to sync are also leading to several of my activities not attempting to sync at all. I have tried to manually upload them via History->Options->Upload but it doesn't seem to do anything. It seems now I am left with a watch that will constantly fail sync and run data that I cannot upload from my watch. Is there any way to manually force certain activities to be uploaded before they become corrupted?
I think I found the solution. There were 25-30 corrupted activities on my watch which were showing erroneous dates in the errors (the dates I noted above). Thus after reviewing all of my activities one by one and deleting the corrupted activities the sync now completes as expected. Of course it is really disappointing that I now lost many of my workouts. I wish the garmin express application could have shown me the actual dates of the corrupted files to make the process easier. And I really wish so many activities didn't get corrupted on the watch. Will there be a patch to correct this or is the 610 on life support and any future development work is towards the 620?
I am sorry for the troubles. Its generally not a good idea to keep activities on the watch after they have been uploaded to Garmin Connect. I recommend you keep no more than a month or so on the watch at a time. It has limited memory so if it gets full it will write over the oldest data which will corrupt old graph and activity data. If an activity is corrupt on the watch then there is no way Express could list information about it. The watch generally wont transmit data to Express that is corrupt. No more updates are planned for the Forerunner 610 at this time. Let us know if you have any other questions.
