Ever since I updated to Garmin Express instead of the old Ant+ I have had nothing but problems. Express won't stay paired(something about a passkey not found). Workouts are lost. Lots of errors when uploading. Any advice? I have read lots of threads but I can't seem to find the answer to my issues.
Aside from the syncing issues with Garmin Connect due to the Daylight Savings Time switch the instructions in the FAQs: How do I delete a fitness device from Garmin Express? & What troubleshooting options can I try when my ANT enabled fitness device will not upload data? should fix your issues. The sync issue on our side should be resolved sometime tomorrow. Give the instructions in the FAQs a try tomorrow night or Tuesday and let us know if you have any other questions.
I have had big problems with Garmin Express too. So, I am not sure about that. I have used Garmin express (GE) for my forerunner 410 for a while now from GMT to British Summer Time and now back to GMT. The problems persist. I cannot escape the notion that blaming it on day light saving is a classic fobbing the customer of. GE is not working well and I am sure Garmin knows all about it looking at the frequent posts on this forum. These are my problems: Syncing with Garmin connect with GE was always erratic and has now stalled completely. I keep getting a message that sync was failed and my device could not be paired and something about a passkey. I am not aware of any passkey of any of my Garmin devices. Syncing of my Edge 810 is fine. It used to be that in spite of the failed sync message the activities were uploaded to Garmin connect which I could only tell by the message of the watch screen. I use MAC OSX 10.9.5 In spite of my memory on the device being empty the Garmin express window tells me that 63 items are being uploaded to Connect. The sync window says my device software is up to date version 2.20. Although I understand from the Garmin website that there is a version 2.30. I have never been able to upload data from Garmin connect to my device using GE: no software updates no training plans. As many fellow garmin users have written ANT+ agent with classic connect and Garmin training centre worked fine. Now the problem has got worse in that I cannot upload activities to Garmin connect via GE any more. My wife who also uses FR410 has to same problem. WE have now uninstalled GE and reinstalled ANT+. What do I do now? I have had a look at the release notes of the latest version on GE but it does not inspire me with great confidence. the same device is recognised as FR410 in Garmin connect classic but as unknown ANT device in GC modern
in classic I just saw that there was a Q of 63 activities. i have now deleted those would that help? how do I teach GC modern that the the unknown ANT device is my forerunner 410? Should I continue with classic and ANT+? How do I upload the latest fiormware (v 2.30) to my FR410? And would that help Should I reinstall GE when it is fixed?
I also have problems with my Forerunner 410, every time that I want to sync my new activity the G.E throw an error related to pair my device, after pair my device GE start to sync my activities but is trying to re-upload activities from Jun (this activities were upload correctly). I'm using MAC OS X 10.9.5 and firmware 2.30. I delete the folder Library/Application Support/Garmin and also delete all my activities from the devices but I still have the same problem .
i must have missed your PM. Anyway I reinstalled my GE and it syncs fine with my EDGe 810 whenitis plugged input still does not sync with my forerunner 410. I still get the message " sync has failed" and "passkey could not be found please pair again". I am not aware of any passkey of any of my Garmin devices. it worked fine when I uninstalled GE and uploaded my runs through ant agent and classic connect but Now I cannot upload my bike rides from edge 810 to Garmin Connect. I do begin to despair.
The passkey would be your Garmin Connect Credentials. Select the device from the drop down menu then click "Device" on the right. Scroll down to the Garmin Connect Account Section and click Change Account. Re-enter your Connect credentials. Do this for both the Edge and the Forerunner. Create a test 20 second activity on each device then see if they will sync.
