Can't sync via Garmin Espress due to what appears to be time out issues?

I have been attempting to update my lifetime maps on my 3590LM for 2 days. No, that is not right. I have been trying off and on for the past year. Now I am serious. The Garmin Express process seemed to keep hanging up saying update in process and 20 some minutes to go. Well I quite the app several times. Did a bunch of research, seems a lot of folks have issues with Garmin Express. Here is finally worked for me. Complete uninstall of Garmin Express http://support.garmin.com/support/searchSupport/simpleCase.htm?caseId=%7Bdf6c6c40-425e-11e2-e8a7-000000000000%7D&kbName=garmin. Re-add your product. Launch update. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING until complete. Please note, the uninstall instructions are not quite right either. step number 11 should read "Click and drag any files with file names that begin with com.garmin.renu to the Trash." Step 18 should have you click Back twice.
I am sorry about all of the trouble that you have experienced while updating your maps but I am glad to hear that you have found a solution. Thank you for bringing the errors in the FAQ article to our attention as well. I have submitted the request to have this updated so we should have this changed soon.
