Garmin Express issue - or Garmin Connect??

Hi-

I just downloaded Garmin Express and the Garmin Communicator plugin. I'm running a MacBook Pro, OS Yosemite, most current version of Chrome. I have a GPSmap 62st. I can add the device in Garmin Express, USB connection. But there's no option to upload to Garmin Connect. In Garmin Connect, the device isn't synched and when I try to add it, it takes me to the Garmin Express download page. What am I missing? The instructions and manuals are awful!

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Heather
  • I don't this think a 62 will sync. You need to manually upload.

    That's unfortunate. How do I identify the file? When I plug it in and see it as a mass storage device, there are folders and files, but I am not sure which is the activity I want to upload (assuming it is single file). Thanks.

    \Garmin\current.gpx should contain tracks recorded by your 62. Saved tracks are probably there also (.gpx files). I'm not sure if the 62 supports .fit files as well but if they are present try those.

    Thanks, that worked. The current.gpx was in a GPX folder. Hopefully this device still works with Base Camp.

    Thanks again,

    [QUOTE=Heather Knowles;415807]The current.gpx was in a GPX folder.

    Sorry, Garmin seems to love putting stuff in slightly different folders depending on the model.

    I doubt you'll have that problem with BC. When it comes to "fitness" stuff Garmin only seems to want to support certain models (they're in the business of selling hardware).
